Trip Overview
The Lemosho Route is known for its beauty and tranquility. Starting on the western side of the mountain, it’s one of the less crowded routes and allows for a longer trek, improving your acclimatization. With stunning views, diverse landscapes, and a quieter ascent, this route offers an unforgettable experience.
Itineraries
Day 1
Start at Lemosho Gate (2,100m), trek through rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750m).
Day 2
Exit forest, cross moorland to Shira 1 Camp (3,500m).
Day 3
Traverse the Shira Plateau to Shira 2 Camp (3,840m).
Day 4
Acclimatization trek to Lava Tower (4,640m), then descend to Barranco Camp (3,950m).
Day 5
Climb Barranco Wall and trek to Karanga Camp (4,000m).
Day 6
Move to Barafu Camp (4,600m), prepare for summit.
Day 7
Midnight summit climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m).
